Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone. It was a fun day! Hope you had a fun one too. The kids had a great time wearing their costumes, playing with their cousins, trick or treating, decorating pumpkins and eating lots of cookies, candy and cupcakes (much to my chagrin). The boys chose what they were going to be--Lincoln was Wall-E (a robot) and Jackson was Lightning McQueen. Lola was Minnie Mouse. For Jackson and Lola, it was the first time trick or treating. Lincoln and Jackson loved it, running from house to house with their cousins, Marc and Roman. Lola of course didn't know what was going on, but had a lot of fun anyway. Toward the end she wanted to walk along with the other kids, though she was much too slow to keep up. One thing I was bummed about though, is that we didn't get a picture of the five of us together. In fact, the only picture I have of Jeff from the whole night is of him in a gorilla mask, playing with Jackson. Oh well, there's always next year.

My three little cuties. Lola's not in love with her costume yet.

Everyone's waiting to go trick or treating.

Trick or treat!

Mommy and Lola walking. Yep, that's Mommy!
Decorating pumpkins since carving is not for little children.

Happy little Minnie Mouse.

Jackson wanted to see Daddy in the mask, but he wouldn't hug him!

Baking and Carving

On October 30th the kids and I filled the day with fun little projects to prepare for Halloween the next day. First, while Lincoln was in school, Jackson and I baked pumpkin cupcakes to bring to the Bouterie's for a Halloween Party the next day. He loves doing things like that and is just so darn cute helping me cook.
Later in the day, we carved our little pumpkins we'd gotten at the pumpkin patch a week ago. The kids had fun scooping out the "guts" of the pumpkins and telling me what kinds of faces they wanted their pumpkins to have. Lincoln's pumpkin was "surprised" and Jackson wanted his to be "sad". Don't know about that one, but I complied. Since Lola's favorite word lately is "happy" (she repeats it over and over), I made her's happy. :)

Have you seen Fireproof yet?

Family and Friends, you must go see this movie. It is about marriage, but more than that it has a fantastic gospel message that touched our hearts very deeply. Since the marriage relationship is a picture of Christ's relationship with His church, the message of the movie pertains to all Christians, not just married ones. Though some of the acting is cheesy, the message of the movie is so profound that it seems almost petty to notice such things. I hope you will go see it. After you do, we would love to hear what you thought of it--even if you didn't like it as much as we did. For more incentive, here's the link to fandango so you can check out where its playing and movie times ...

Bishop Pumpkin Farm

Today we went to the Bishop Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland. It was really fun! The boys had a blast. There were slides, a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, train ride and hay ride. It was a bit windy and dirty, but fun memories anyway.

Apple Hill

October 18 we went to Apple Hill. It was so crowded, but we found a couple fun places to go. We went to 3 farms (which took hours). The first one had a small pumpkin patch with a beautiful view. The second was El Dorado with the little train. The third was a cute little place called Honey Bear (or something like that) where we had lunch in a beautiful little field near a fish pond while we watched people go by riding on a cart pulled by the cutest little ponies. It was a fun day even if it was crowded.
