As always tends to be the case on holidays, the Nichols family filled our day to the brim with activities and places to go. We went by Grandpa and Manamana's in the morning for the "flag raising ceremony" and the boys did a little parade in the driveway. Miss Lola was not a participant since she was grumpy from not having had breakfast yet. We then headed over to the Harris' household for breakfast and swimming, ending up spending quite a portion of the day there. Jeff got a nice sunburn due to morning swimming and a wife who thinks "a little sun can't hurt..." though now I realize that for my fair-skinned husband, "yes it can!" I hope to be much better about that in the future! After swimming we headed up to Roseville for dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Nichols, aunties, uncles and cousins, after which was playing in the park and finally FIREWORKS! The kids were so excited to see the fireworks, but between you and me, I think we had too many! The boys were so tired (and mommy was beyond...) as we headed home close to 10 PM that they fell asleep in the car. Which concluded another exhausting yet successful holiday!
